The HÉLICUT is a straw blower specifically designed to produce short straw lengths, meeting the needs of livestock farms looking for uniform, comfortable, and cost-effective bedding. Thanks to its high-performance unravelling system, large-diameter turbine, and interchangeable screens, it allows the straw length to be easily adjusted to suit the requirements of each operation. Available in mounted or trailed versions, the HÉLICUT combines performance, ease of use, and reliability to deliver fast, precise, and consistent straw spreading.

Loading

Unravelling – Distribution – Straw Blowing

  • 1 unravelling rotor Ø 380 mm, mechanically driven by a multi-rib belt fitted with 120 blades
  • Ø 1,600 mm turbine equipped with 8 removable blades
  • 320 mm wide turbine housing made of abrasion-resistant steel (430 HB Brinell hardness, 120 kg steel)
  • Turbine inspection hatch
  • 2-speed gearbox – 540 / 1,000 rpm
  • Right-hand side straw distribution/blowing chute operated by 1 hydraulic cylinder
  • Right-hand straw blowing for round bales up to Ø 2.0 m and square bales up to 2.70 m long
  • 1 sizing screen (straw lengths from 40 to 140 mm) with retaining fingers
  • 140 blades – 11 retainers

Moving Floor

  • Ø 10 mm heavy-duty marine chain conveyor with removable rectangular tube slats and machined ends®
  • Hydraulic gear motor drive with oil bath, forward and reverse operation, and electric speed control
  • Conveyor rotation direction indicator

  • Removable floor and side panels
  • Double sealed floor with rear cleaning hatch

Controls

  • Electric control box operating all machine functions, with portable in-cab control unit

  • Drawbar with Category II hitch bar
  • Hydraulic steering axle operated by two cylinders
  • Articulated rear lighting compliant with road regulations
  • Parking stand with adjustment holes

Machine compliant with CE standards and approved by DREAL.

Driveline

  • PTO shaft with friction clutch safety protection and machine-side protective guard

Tractor Requirements

  • 540 rpm PTO
  • 12 V / 3-pin electrical socket for the electric control unit
  • 12 V / 7-pin electrical socket for lighting (trailed version)
  • 1 single-acting hydraulic spool valve with direct return to tank
  • Minimum hydraulic flow: 25 L/min

Interchangeable Screens

Supplied as standard with one of three interchangeable screen models. The screens are designed for quick and easy adjustment.

  • Screen 1: Short straw: 4–10 mm
  • Screen 2: Medium straw: 20–50 mm
  • Screen 3: Long straw: 80–140 mm

Note: Straw length values are average values and may vary depending on the number of retainers installed on the machine.

Chutes and Optional Equipment

  • 300° swivelling single discharge chute
  • Right-hand side distribution/blowing chute with 30° forward and rearward hydraulic deflection (overall width: 2.55 m)
  • 60° side chute (requires the optional right-hand side distribution/blowing chute with 30° forward and rearward deflection, overall width: 2.55 m)
  • Hydraulic cylinder for chute deflector (side chute or single chute)

Mechanical Drive

  • Multi-disc wet clutch for mechanical drive of the unravelling rotor

  • Screen 1: Short straw: 4–10 mm
